Grassroots Readiness Project Working Group
On June 25, 2008, Governor Deval Patrick announced the release of the Readiness Project Action Agenda -- a long-term, strategic plan for reforming our education system and preparing students for the 21st century. The announcement comes after nearly a year of work undertaken by the Readiness Project - a statewide initiative involving more than 200 educators, business leaders and community leaders to develop a blueprint for the next phase of education in the Commonwealth.
"The Readiness Project Agenda is broad and ambitious on purpose. Our goal is to reinvent and re-engineer an entire system and all of its components," said the Governor during his speech to a full room at the JFK Library.
Governor Patrick's Education Action Agenda is designed to raise achievement of all students as measured against global benchmarks and to help prepare all students by 2020 to compete successfully in the global economy.
Much work has yet to be done on the Project, but one thing the Governor has asked of his Committee and his supporters is to participate in defining the Project's outcomes and working to make sure it is a success. This means we need anyone who is willing to be an active participant to volunteer their time and ideas.
We are seeking energized grassroots leaders to help the mission of the Project and work on behalf of the Governor's Committee in their community. Details are coming in, and we are still getting organized, but if you are willing and would like to support our efforts, please sign up below and let us know you are interested. We will get you plugged in.
